Make a Selfie Frame with Duck Tape

17th September 2016

If you’re a selfie king or queen, you probably want to show off your best shots in hard copies, not just on Instgram and Snapchat. Instead of buying expensive frames, you can make your own perfect selfie frame with Duck Tape.

A selfie frame is a basic portrait or landscape style frame created from cardboard. The idea is to make a fun frame in which your guests can pose this way and that whilst taking photographs of one another.

To make a selfie frame you will need:

  • Large sheet of stiff cardboard or foam board
  • Craft knife
  • Duck Tape in a selection of glamourous colours and finishes
  • Pencil
  • Ruler

To begin, decide on the style of frame you’d like. A fancy, scrolled antique style works well but remember to keep the silhouette quite simple or you may find it difficult to cut out easily. You can also choose a plain, oblong or oval design, which work well when decorated with some beautiful, bright Duck Tape.

Measure your frame out with pencil and ruler; a good size for a selfie frame is around 3ft by 2ft; this allows more than one person to squeeze in for a photograph.

Mark out your frame shape and cut out. Next, mark out an inner frame within this shape and cut out.

Now you have your frame, you can decorate it by covering with Duck Tape of your choice. Some good choices include metallic, glitter or animal prints in bright colours, or a combination of all of these if you want an outrageous look to your frame!

If you’re making frames with friends, you can even make a selfie booth with fun props and backgrounds before printing and framing your pics.
