Duck Tape Hanging Halloween Bats

You will need:

  • Black Duck Tape®
  • Florist wire
  • Ruler
  • Craft knife and cutting board
  • String or elastic cord

Step 1

Rip off a piece of black Duck Tape® that is about 8” long and lay it sticky side down on the cutting mat. Rip off another piece the same length and lay it on the cutting mat, slightly overlapping the first piece.

Draw or trace the shape of one wing and cut out with a craft knife.

Step 3

Repeat Steps 1 and 2 so that you have two identical wings. It’s okay if the wings are facing the same direction.

Step 4

Turn the wings over so that they are sticky side up. Use the florist wire to outline each wing. This will allow the wings to bend.

Step 5

Lay two strips of Duck Tape®  sticky side down over each wing and trim edges.

Step 6

To create the body of the bat, roll a piece of Duck Tape® into a ball and continue to wrap strips of Duck Tape® around it until you reach your desired shape and size. Or cover a polystyrene ball with Duck Tape.

Step 7

Attach the wings to the back of the body with small pieces of Duck Tape®.

Step 8

Attach string or elastic cord to the top of the bat with a piece of Duck Tape®.

Step 9

Add feet, ears, and eyes to complete your hanging bat!
